Thanksgiving Beastiaries Feastiaries

Yo gangstas. What say we eat some fresh turkeys with stuffing and gravy before we do the same dirty deed with our families? Just a thought...

Ingram is saaad

I haven't realized the true magnitude of Ingram's path of destruction until I went to Homecoming. What the hell is happening to our school? True, I did get to see some of you awesome people (Kae, Shane-o, Chris) and it was great. But I couldn't help but notice this overall hopeless attitude that seemed to pervade the entire atmosphere. I really can't explain it very well, but I felt it and it made me a bit sad. Despite hearing throughout the years about how much Ingram sucks, I didn't think people really believed in all that rhetoric. I mean, why couldn't we be as good, if not better, than everyone else? Being poor doesn't justify apathy. Our downfall was not being located in a crappy town (which I really don't believe--the overall beauty of the place really overshadows any less than perfect parts) but making it an excuse not to succeed. We beat everyone to the punch by considering ourselves a joke before anyone else had a chance to. So now when Ingram really is the joke of our district, one could say that it was really just a self-fulfilling prophecy. I have to go work on other stuff now, but I leave y'all with this: however corny it may be, I really believe in yall's ability not to make excuses and hold yourselves accountable for the decisions you make. I find it fascinating that subscribed to this blog are really who I considered in high school to be my closest friends and who I considered would be most likely to succeed. I feel so fortunate to have found y'all during that time in my life--in all honesty, I don't regret high school at all. I believe that my friendships with people like you guys and what I learned did in fact prepare me for what was ahead--so many people weren't as fortunate and if you're one of them, I'm sorry, that sucks. But does anyone have a right to be pissed off at Ingram because of their sucesses and failures? Now, that was just a rhetorical question; not meant to invite an outpouring of complaints about how much Ingram sucks at life, but just to offer an alternative perspactive to the overwhelming negative attitude. The way I see it, I would have never met any of you if it weren't for Ingram and everyone else can go to hell. Thanks and Gig 'Em!

Love, Lorraine.
